Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

PodcastCleanup (podcastcleanup.app), a browser-based podcast transcript tool. Contact: [email protected].

2. What we process, and where it goes

Your audio: nowhere. Transcription runs inside your browser using a locally downloaded Whisper model. Audio files are never uploaded to us or anyone else. This is the design of the product, not a configuration.

Transcript text (optional): only if you click to generate a publish pack, the cleaned transcript text is sent to our server, which forwards it to a third-party AI provider (via OpenRouter) to generate chapters, clips, and show notes. We do not store transcripts; the AI provider processes them under its own terms.

Session drafts:your working transcript is saved in your browser's localStorage only, so you can restore it later. It never leaves your device.

Analytics:we use Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate usage (pages viewed, feature events like “export”). No transcript content or audio ever appears in analytics events.

Payment data: Pro purchases are handled by Waffo (Waffo.com Limited) as merchant of record. Waffo collects your email and payment details under its own privacy policy — we never receive card details. We receive only an anonymous order reference used to unlock your purchase.

3. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where GDPR applies: contract performance (delivering the tool and Pro purchases), legitimate interest (aggregate analytics, abuse prevention). No profiling, no ads based on your data, no selling of data.

4. Retention

We keep no user content — audio never arrives and transcripts are not stored after generation. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults. The merchant of record retains order records under its own policy.

5. Your rights

You can clear all local data yourself (browser localStorage). For requests concerning payment records, contact Waffo via your receipt or us and we will forward the request. For analytics, use standard browser controls or opt-outs.

6. Children

The service is not directed at children under 16 and we knowingly collect no data from them.

7. Changes

We may update this policy; the date above reflects the latest revision.
